For the past few months, this business has been on our hearts. We knew we wanted to create something centered around God, but we didn’t want to just choose a name because it sounded good. We prayed and asked God what He wanted us to call it, and that’s where Sown For Generations came from.
The name felt especially meaningful because it connects so closely to our own family story. Sown For Generations was inspired by our grandfather, who gave his life to Jesus at 18 years old. His decision to follow Christ changed the direction of his entire family. Through his bold faith and the life he lived, his parents and siblings came to know Jesus, and that same fiery faith continued through his children, grandchildren, and the generations that followed.
His salvation became the beginning of an entire family coming to know Jesus.
One surrendered life became a heritage of faith.
That is what Sown for Generations means to us.
We want our lives to sow something that lasts for generations. We want our children to know Jesus for themselves, to raise their children to know Him, and for that legacy of faith to keep being passed down long after we’re gone. We may never see all the fruit of what we’re planting now, but that’s the legacy we want to leave.
Sowing has also become part of our own testimony. God has called our family to step out in faith in ways that have required us to trust Him beyond what we could see in the natural. He has opened doors for us in business and given us a vision that goes far beyond ourselves. Along the way, He’s taught us that what He puts in our hands has a purpose. We are to steward it well, listen to His voice, and be obedient with whatever He asks us to do with it.
And through that obedience, we’ve watched God bring increase in ways only He could. And with every blessing he gives us, our desire is to keep sowing—to give back into His Kingdom, bless people, ministries and churches, and simply be willing to use what He gives us however He leads.
This brand is another seed. Another yes to something God has put on our hearts. Our hope is that even something as simple as a hat or a piece of clothing can carry truth, start a conversation, plant a seed, or remind someone of who Jesus is.
Our legacy isn’t about making our own name known. It’s about making His Name known from one generation to the next.
We sow today for a harvest we may never see.
“That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children.”
Psalm 78:6
